Car rentals in Abisko are limited, so it’s best to rent a vehicle in Kiruna or Narvik before heading to the area. A 4WD is recommended in winter for safe driving on icy roads.

It is important that you bring warm clothes to wear and warm insulated winter boots. Warm overalls and heavy-duty Arctic boots are available to rent for an extra charge.
Only the outer layer (extra socks, hats, mittens, winter boots, overalls/winter suits) you will wear on top of your own thermal and mid clothing layers.
